Can't believe you HAVE to be married for 1 year before you can get divorced - how awful.

I think they should make it more difficult to get married and easier to get divorced!

Also just remember that when you become a Canadian Citizen you have to swear you'll be faithful "and bear true allegiance" to her Majesty the Queen;)

What form of transportation did Aboriginal peoples and fur traders use to create trading networks in North America?

a) Roads
b) Waterways
c) Railways
d) Air

I don't think questions with a historical focus are out of place in a citizenship test. I do think the bizarre part consumer advice/ part pub quiz style British one is completely pointless though

Indeed. I suggested the other day that people should have to get a license before having children. I was met with blank looks.

Bah. I'm not the greatest liar. If I make it that far, I'll need to start practising. :p

My OH's step father (he's from Downpatrick) says he's going to cross his fingers at that bit in the Citizenship Ceremony:rofl:

(I totally agree with you about the license to have children! Mind you if there was a test my OH and I would probably have failed)

I wonder how it would look if we got all the BE members to do both tests and then had a look at the z-scores?

I scored 5 on the British test, and 100% on the Canadian.

I'm from the Channel Islands though and some of the laws are different there. EG you still need a dog license.

9 for me....a few guesses, but then maybe they were 'informed' guesses because of that Britishness?;)

Interesting to see people scoring better on the Canadian questions...but then they probably swotted up on that one.

Number 7 seemed a little unfair though, I was thrown by the word 'myth' in the question, surely Father Christmas is real?
