Default Hot as Hell in the Okanagan

It's 38 in Oliver right now and it doesn't even seem to phase the locals. In august '75 I gave myself 2 weeks to acclimatise in Oaxaca before moving south and this heat seems close. If I don't drink my beer quickly it evaporates.

That's the temp, the humidex is 41. It's just been a few hot days and should cool off beginning tomorrow.

Will refrain from sending pictures of self in speedo on reciept of paypal gift of $15 Cdn. I've only been living here 2 weeks (though a frequent visitor all my life) and noticed on the weather just now Kelowna set a record at 36, and the 38's posted not only in Oliver but east into the mountains through Midway and Greenwood weren't records. This is the northern tip of the Great Basin Desert, and I half expected the weather. I think the orchardists like this heat because some rainy weather threatened to ruin the cherry crop so they've been spot picking until now. The wind chimes are playing along with 'Kansas City' on Galaxy now, and that means a cooling breeze. I've seen -44 and plus 44, etc... I met a Welsh girl with 44 Double D's, most ridiculous name you ever heard.

It still tickles me when I walk out of an air conditioned store and my glasses steam up.
