Nothing new about that. The dossers in Glasgow have been drinking Brasso for years.

I've had my moments of alcohol based desperation but I've never needed to resort to Metal polish and Hand sanitisers.

I think the lowest I went was Buckfast Tonic wine or it's ertswhile US equivalent - Thunderbird (Blue label of course - I have standards).

Could be an urban legend but I remember hearing about a pub that had to stop putting the yellow disinfectant cubes in the urinals because the local saddos were stealing and SMOKING them....
