Default Homework at 4?

Someone was telling me this yesterday. Is it true? She said that this will keep her occupied in the winter, surely it must be a little bit of reading each night, if that?

In JK #1 offspring got a bit of homework, nothing more than a letter related colouring page to do, including copying the letter a few times. I dont seem to recall her getting it every school day, maybe just once or twice a week.

SK was much the same, although there were ususally 2 or 3 pages and few words as well as letters to be done. Towards the end of the year there was one (very) simple reading book a week to be read at home.

Its nothing to worry about, at least I didnt think so. She enjoyed doing it, and especially enjoyed the praise from the teacher for doing it well.

No homework here in JK, although obviously there were school-related things to do with him in the evenings and at weekends. He'd get a new library book every Tuesday, he'd come home with song sheets that needed a bit of work on the French, etc etc. But no specific task to be completed by a certain time.
