This is perhaps a very dumb question but it's bugging me and might give someone a laugh at my expense so feel free to rip it if I deserve it!

If Nova Scotia is 'New Scotland', do they celebrate Hogmany?!

Yes but they get pissed on Keiths and Moosehead instead of Tennents or Stella. The locals will wear their Nova Scotia tartan regalia as well.

Seem to celebrate levee (new years day) more.

I have never seen any locals wearing their Nova Scotian Tartan but then I probably need to get out more.

HOGMANY is NOT the same celebration as HOGMANAY. In fact HOGMANY probably isn't celebrated at all anywhere.

Are you sure you're entitled to wear a tartan?

The Uxbridge English Dictionary (as beloved by ISIHAC fans) defines HOGMANY as "a lot of pigs".

All may or not be true, but the Sassenachs fell for it hook, line and sinker. Many Scottish millionaires were made such from selling Asian made tat to the English.
