I went last year and it was a waste of $15.00. All it was, was people selling stuff and not very good stuff at that. I got one of those ShamWow's but it didn't last very long.
As for pubs go down Granville Street there's a lot a bars and pubs along that road. They're all about the same and a bit shit really.

Its at the new Convention Center this year. There's loads of restaurants and hotel bars around that area for you to pop out for a cheeky drink. I'd stay away from Hastings St. if I were you. Caderos is just a few blocks away, they have okay food and an okay bar. Your best bet is to go to a BC liquor store and get a few cans and stuff them under your table, that way you'll be able to have a few while you're working. What company/booth are you on/with as I might stop by, especially if you have beer?

steam works in gastown....also the irish heather....Smileys is ok for a swift one. Avoid the elephant and castle.....they are all much the same really. The Irish Heather is probably the best really.

Could also try the Red Lion, it's just over the road from the convention centre, good beers (plenty of imports on tap), decent pub-style food.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the suggestions, as far as boozers go, I have not yet got past Malones, on Pender, the beer is good, food is ok. On Saturday night they have got Zeppelina (female Led Zep band) and Girls and Roses (Female Guns and Roses) as well as a Canucks game on the big screen, so could be a good night as the Boat Show ends at 7pm!
Women with guitars?
Playing Rock Music?
Wouldnt happen in Victoria!
The Boat Show; not worth visiting unless you have specifics in mind, there is a good stand selling Australian Cowboy hats, and the Duberry Boot stand opposite mine has an attractive young lady standing in a bucket of water all day adopting a regal pose because the Queen has got them dont you know? The beer is small cans of Heineken or Kokaney for 8.50$.
The waterside part of the show at False Creek is very unimpressive unless you are looking for a boat in excess of 1 million, would you believe toilet facilities are three blue upright plastic boxes, and the refreshments restricted to one 'dunking donut'stand.
Not even, would you believe, not even a trace of the Sham Wow phenomenon, which is a shame cos I have one that I would like to wrap around someones neck!
Cheers all!

If you're up for a walk Bridges on Granville Island is one of my favourite places. Cactus Club near Burrard Station isn't bad either.

Also managed with the help of Jonboy and better half to drink the boatshow dry!!

And they beer ran out of beer when it was my round.
er, I mean
.
We did have a look at a rather nice 2 bed 2 bath dinghy that Mrs JonboyE decided should be on her birthday list. I thought the faux granite counter tops in the kitchen let it down somewhat.
