Hipsters

More specifically Canadian "hipsters" who have to be the most annoyingly self-unaware tossers to ever step foot on the earth. I popped out for a nice quiet pint and the place is full of them. There's one cad sitting next to me at the bar who, appears to be writing his diary and three tables,of other cads bellowing for the bars attention, saying naff all, with their horrible Canadian accents. I just want to read my paper without hearing about "the awesome place to vape."

I should have down The Legion. :(

Hipsters are most annoying and Vancouver seem's to have way too many of them.

I hate their beards and that fact they dress like some of the unfortunate homeless people - yet they spend $300 on the outfit

Re: Hipsters

It wasn't too bad. Thank god the beer special was 7%. It made the cads slightly a bit more tolerable.

I thought that they had moved from beards and onto manbuns?

No, they're just cads.

Vancouver's always been full of them, that's why I quit going to the Rail about 15 years ago. Next time I'm in town I want to check out the WISE for non-peak hours.

No hipsters round here, we still have hippies and those hippies are pensioners now. Oh and a fair few old men with ZZ Top beards.

Re: Hipsters

Rest assured that the twats are down here right now, too, you are not suffering alone. Blame urban gentrification for it. Formerly working class, salt-of-the-earth areas are now overrun with insufferable twats who moved from the countryside and suburbia to the 'big city', to become artists and sustainable food salesmen, or artisan cupcake bakers. Of course, they've all invaded the craft beer scene so you can't go to any place that sells half decent beer without it being full of them.

Bunch of vapid, stupid looking twunts who seem to think that being individual means becoming a clone of the first wave of arseholes who started this 'movement' in Brooklyn in the early 2000s.

Christ, I miss the 90s.

They should make them go and live in Red Deer or Regina or somewhere similarly unpleasant, where its minus 300million degrees all year, eating at A&W is their cultural highlight and their favourite sports are ice fishing and incest.

Why should the innocent residents of those places have to suffer any more than they already do (if they are truly that unpleasant) by forcing upon them wave upon wave of unwashed, self-righteous, pretentious, bearded wankers?

Nah, send the hipsters off to Pripyat. Do us all a favour

A-hem! I'm here you know..... And it isn't always minus 300 million degrees, sometimes it's plus 300 million. Your bar-room hipsters probably come from here anyway and can't come back.

I like the gentrification too (but pass on the buns and juice). Hipsters don't bother me, they're just young adults with naff fashion sense. Plus ca change.

Quite impressed with Oink's 7% beer though.

They don't usually bother me, but last night, they were talking bollox very loudly.

The beer special, was proper 20oz pints of their rotating tap for a fairly reasonable $5.00. Last night it was a winter ale which I don't usually like, but this one wasn't too bad. I didn't find out it was 7% until the my last pint at which point I was mashed. HID was not impressed when I wandered home. She retaliated this morning by not allowing me to have fried bread.

Hipsters didn't invent anything. All the do is copy everyone else. They're basically the cultural equivalent of Apple ...

I do chuckle to myself seeing people with the latest iPhone. Not only is it an iPhone but it's even more shit than the previous version.

Well, I'm at same bar and there way too many of the loud naffers. They seem to be multiplying with their absorbed self importance. I should just stop going here. What a waste of a decent bar. :(
I don't mind the ones with buttons in their ears or who wear silly pork pie hats, its the cads who, don't know how naffing boring they are.
I'm either getting old or Canadian hipsters are just sad cads.

Way too many hipsters, we have a fair amount here and they seem to pretty off too...

It's a weird town, a mix of hipsters and locals, but the locals are being pushed out and leaving, so hipsters probably outnumber locals now...
