Hillsborough Memorial Service
Just watched the service and even though it was 20 years ago it is still so raw.
Many tears were shed at my place of work as we watched.
It was indeed a beautiful, heartfelt service.
You'll Never Walk Alone.

Can't believe its been 20 years - still remember being at home in the kitchen or something and dad calling me in to the living room and watching it on tv

Its about time we had Justice For The 96...The cops caused it and as yet ,no one has been charged..something wrong there..And the SCUM news paper still won't sell on Merseyside.

Charged with what exactly? The police may have been negligent, but what did they do that was criminal?

Re: Hillsborough Memorial Service
My understanding was they opened the gate to let people out and instead more people came in leading to the crush. The whole thing was a crowd control disaster but there were a number of stake holders responsible. The whole Taylor Report was written as a result and that is why we now have all seated stadium as a response.

Things are rarely as simple as the aggrieved party would like to think they are. For sure, it was a disaster, it was probably avoidable, mistakes were certainly made, and it was an extraordinaly sad day for Liverpool and for football. But emotional overreactions on either side are unhelpful.

Oh, the cops caused it, did they? And what about the crush of non-ticket-holding supporters outside the stadium whose presence caused "the cops" to think it would be safer to open the gate to ease congestion outside the ground?

I'm sorry..The police don't make mistakes...Check out the G20 Demo's in London...The Met are are a bunch of bastards...Man on his way home..and get knocked to the floor by a cop ,who didn't display his ID number ...He is dead now....I was there ...The cops wanted a fight....Big Brother is working for us ...
I have no comment on the G20 summit, a man died after being shoved by a policeman. The media hyped everything so much anyone with half a brain would of steered well clear of the demonstrations. When people go to such protests hell bent on causing violence and causing trouble the police have to react. A classic example was the protestors that were arrested who had police uniforms. They were ready to beat and hurt people just to try and inflame the situation.
