No.

The photo is what it is... what ever it is. No photoshop, no alterations, no smoke, no gas, no reason for the weird thing above the hot tub.

Sigh.......

I have removed the photo as it is clear that all people are interested in doing is making disparaging comments.

I wish I hadn't posted it in the first place, I only did so as I thought some might find it interesting.

Oh well.

Edited to say, I put it back up (was having a bad day, lol)

Siouxie, I didn't mean for my comments to appear disparaging. It was actually a very interesting photo.... looked like Florence Nightingale reaching down to pat the dog! Very weird, provided it can't be explained away by the obvious (which is what we were trying to establish).

It was weird, indeed. Perfectly genuine though and I had already examined it in depth and discounted all possible explanations, which is why I got (unusually) agitated at the responses.

Sorry :)

Was the house old, or had any interesting history? Were there any "events", or did you ever have an uneasy feeling when on your own?

The house is/was not old by our standards, a mere 50 years.

I felt uncomfortable in that house from the day I moved in; could not walk past a certain area in the basement without getting the jitters and frequently had 'encounters'; I used to smell perfume when I went up to the top floor even after living there for years (the rooms were not used). My dog used to often start growling and would have her hackles up whilst staring at the doorway to the hall (nobody there); I have photos of a swirling mist around people's heads that could not be seen at the time.

Three events that stick out in my mind out of many:

1) My dog and I were in the garden, she looked up at the window at the top of the house and started barking and trying to 'climb' up the wall by jumping - then ran to the side door, ran to the door to the upstairs and whined until I opened it. She ran upstairs with her tail wagging and spent about 10 minutes up there.. came down as though she was the happiest dog in the world. (This was the same room as I used to smell perfume in and was unused apart from one Christmas).

2) I often encountered 'sparkly' lights - actually, most nights - where the room would be literally filled with sparks of lights that would whiz around the room going off at all angles lasting for up to half an hour; sometimes they would form into a more cohesive ball shape. Weirdly, my sister came to visit from the UK and she slept in that room - when she got up in the morning, she told me how she had the same experience, though I had never mentioned it to her.

3) The same time that my sister stayed my son also stayed (it was Christmas). I was sleeping in a room at the top of the house, my sister was sleeping in the room underneath, my son was sleeping in the basement underneath her room. One night, I saw a really dark shadow in the room which made me very uncomfortable, the dog was growling. When my sister got up the next day she said she had seen a dark shadow move down through the ceiling and after hovering, it disappeared through the floor. It really frightened her. When my son got up in the morning he told me that 'something' had sat on his bed and when he opened his eyes there was a darkness pressing down on him.

I'd be interested to see that photo :) I'm into ghosts and all of that stuff. Sounds like there's more than one to me, but they're not always bound tot he house, sometimes to a person, or they just visit a number of places.

Bloody hell!
Too late (at my end) for a proper response.... will write later!

Can you put the picture back up, now you've elaborated?

I only opened this thread as a side joke for the Hunting ones.

But this has potential.

I'm afraid all I can offer is that I have sometimes been convinced that lying in bed I've occasionally seen a wispy thing move from one side of the room to the other, down by the walk-in closet.

Convinced because MrsB has said she's also 'seen' something.

Now that the photo is up, does anyone have a plausible explanation of what that ghost-like intrusion is? It seems the picture was taken with a digital camera so developing errors can't be the issue. It's fascinating.....!
