Aye Aye....This should be interesting

Kinda like "has time come for a Black US president", "Black lead person in a Hollywood blockbuster", "Black PM in Canada", "Black police chiefs" etc?

Why stop / target one race....how about As Asian, Oriental, Aboriginal, Amazonian or South American Santa?

There's no cause to be sombre and no reason a Santa should be a specific colour. Indeed, one year at the work children's party, a Nigerian colleague was Santa; children were markedly less disturbed that year than the one when it was my turn.

Of course, no amount of equal opportunity Santa-ing will stop people from being basically shit. Someone will always object.

If you visualize the flow of cheap, nasty, modern goods from Walmart through to landfill, you will realise that Santa is nothing less than a facilitator of our undoing and an enviroterrorist.

Nothing much to think about. The teacher is an ignorant fool. Santa can be whatever children imagine he/she/transgender to be.

St Nicholas was Turkish

Surely a black Santa would just steal all the presents?

And get shot in the first home he went into in Texas.

There's certainly a whiff of condescension about this thread

Perhaps it's just a case of majority carry the vote? I mean just look at most commercials on TV (especially when it's to do with kids) or the women's magazines

Ironically though, there isn't a shortage of people painting their face "Black" for Halloween

Of course there's not a shortage, one would be too many.

A friend of mine a while back, who is a Lebanese Christian took her son to see Santa in a shop, and he ended up in hysterical tears, because the Santa couldn't speak Arabic....and we all know that the 'real' one would be able to do so!

The teacher was a joyless prat, Santa is magic, and should be believed in till the bitter end. Santa is 'just like' your kindest elderly male relative, be you from whatever ethnic background, but with reindeer...a bit like Jesus, who comes without the sleigh!
