This is the archetypal BE thread. Next to nothing posted on the original topic followed swiftly by a nosedive into the gutter.

Is there any particular reason why a reference to pussies led to you to make a comment about nosediving into the gutter (never heard it called that before)?

Common questions that most of us get annoyed about
How much do I need to earn to live in X
Do I need winter tires / block heater
Which ones best Calgary / Vancouver (or insert 2 place names here)
Gremmies personal fave - Which BBQ do you use
Healthcare in Canada - how does it comepare to the UK
What do you miss most about "home"
Where can I buy marmite/bisto/cordial etc
I suppose some of us have been around more than most - and some more than that even, so have these questions time after time after time after ...... well you get my drift.
Whilst to someone new these are all valid questions (aside from the particularly ridiculous "Do Canadians feet smell like fish" or whatever it was") to those of us saddos that more or less live here, its like taking 3 5year olds on a 12hr long road journey and from the first mile they ask are we there yet, and then again every 30 seconds until arrival.
Sooner or later even the most calm person will snap

I don't look at all the cliquie stuff that is posted on here, it doesn't interest me in the slightest - so for example, when I see the pass in pass out thread, I pass on by!
It really is that easy.
Edited to add that I do agree about the smelly feet thread, but, if I remember correctly the OP was pissed as a fart when she posted it and hey who hasn't posted something stupid after a few too many.

So don't answer them, in fact as you scroll down the list of posts and you see some of those questions in the ehaders, keep on scrolling, it isn't obligatory to open the post up to read and it certainly isn't obligatory to answer.

Or not....It really can be that easy.
As I have said before (over and over now in fact) we all get a few free passes at starting dumb threads...its almost a right of initiation.
As a mod I only have a problem with it if it turns into a pattern of attention seeking behaviour, or if people are nasty to newbies in the process of guiding them to previously posted information.
I think to some extent the formation of cliques is inevitable, through geography, age group, and other general common ground, but that doesnt mean we cant at least try to get along, or failing that at least ignore each other in the pursuit of peaceful coexistance.
I suppose I should have a go at the original question while I am here...
Has this forum changed my mind? No, Im still always right about everything
