this is our little flower (she'll never forgive us for that, I suspect), our scarey leopard, and a couple of our jack-o'lanterns. We had slighly fewer visitors than last year, but following the same pattern: little kids with parents in tow from around 6pm, progressing through to small groups of mid-teens and all wrapping up by about 8.45. We've got loads of candy left over which I've donated to the office kitchen today in a vain attempt to stop eating it all myself!

Well - yours look sweet - mine? Not so much!
(sorry about the quality of the pics - darkness plus pathetic flash equals awful pics!

My OH loves Haloween and decorates the house every year. Kids talk to each other on the streets during the evening and word gets about so they all come from far and wide to see what my OH has done each year. He's the one in the hairy mask at the back in the 3rd photo. What the photo doesn't show are the evil sounds coming out of our darkened house, played through on the stereo. My OH comes out from the dark saying, 'Wadddddda you waaaaaant,' in an evil and scarey voice.
The spider to the right of the door is sound activated and runs down the wall with flashing eyes, the white ghosts, woohoohoo eerily, the skeleten to the left of the door, vibrates and flashes red eyes, there's a mouse on the ground that invariably some kid treads on so it squeaks, and some kids, both young and old, are really freaked out by it all, until my OH takes off his mask and produces a basket of sweets. A neighbour and I stood on the other side of the road for ages watching the kids reactions, it really was so funny to watch.
We didn't see much of our own kids cos they went off to the surrounding streets in a group, so no pics of them, other than the last one, where both my son and OH are teaming up for the big pumpkin face. (It's on the table in the 1st photo). It's huge isn't it? Given to us by one of the old folk around the corner who have an allotment.

We bought this lovely thing and hung it outside but some of the smaller kids didn't see it so must arrange to hang it lower next year. We live and learn after all it is our first Halloween.

Have already posted these pics on another thread, but happy to do so again.
1st. My first ever pumpkin carving effort, am pleased with it.
2nd. We all went with a theme for the kids, the other pumpkins were a bit more complex than mine.

Hi I know I'm a bit late checking out this thread but I LOVE your pumpkins - did you draw the characters on yourselve and then cut them out or use templates? If you used templates where do you get them from as we havn't been in Canada long and were living in an apt block this year so didn't do pumpkins but can't wait to carve them next year for our new home.
Thanks in advance

We printed teh templates off from a Disney site, and i then picked the simplest one for myself. Friends and i got together with a bottle of wine one night and did them for the kids, we had fun.
Before that night i didnt even know the pumpkin carving tools and templates existed - well worth it.

..can't remember where tho...hmmmmm
