Haggis Hunting :-)
#1
Hi and Happy 2013
Having just waved off the family back to Scotland this week and enjoying their delivery of Paxo Stuffing, HP Fruity Sauce, Bisto Gravy granules and Cadburys Turkish delight bars, my thoughts turned to other traditional delicacies such as "Haggis"!
Does anyone know if there is somewhere in Southern Manitoba that actually stocks such a thing? Did a forum search but didn't find the answer.

I know haggis is very stereotype for us Scots, but it's so damn yummy, I will miss it dearly, lol.

If your plans to settle in SW Ontario materialize you will find lots of Scottish bakeries/butchers selling haggis. We've just ordered one for a Robbie Burns event my wife is hosting.

i think the "Scottish" butcher in Calgary sells it, along with scotch pies and decent bacon

That's good to know though, thanks. The only meat store I've been to was "Super Sausage" in Stoney Creek. (Not as crime-busting and caped crusaderish as it sounds)

(I must say, old Alex Salmond looks a little under the weather in that second picture don't you think?)
Thanks in advance...

yes i believe you can get the traditional Scots costumes at the same shop that supplies English Morris dancer outfits

was informed today that the Scotsmans Well Pub (NW Calgary, just off Stoney Trail) is having a Burns night on the 25th, serving Haggis Neeps N Tatties, and they will have a piper etc
might check that out!
