They were quite heavy bikes and their brief tenure as cool was between choppers and BMX's if I recall.

It was the gear's that set the grifter apart. When you pulled back to change gear you were just like Poncherello:thumbup:

I'm jealous. My brother had one of those bikes with the big handle bars - was it a chopper or a grifter? I had one of those big heavy fold up Hercules bikes, so I could bike to my Grandma's and she would meet me halfway, fold it up and put it in the boot.
