Dear god, you'll be hankering back to the days of Watneys Red Barrell next.
(My father told me about it I hasten to add, being way to young to have, drank it. Well legally anyway._

I do remember them, though. The self-mutilation involved in getting the damn things open, cleaning the kitchen walls and ceiling when you eventually managed it, the horrible hangover.

Happy times.

I seem to remember an ad on TV before I left in 1963.

It was "What we want is Watney's" I think that was referring to Red Barrel.

Yeah an' we owned our own home.

Dad spent three years in Canada earning the money to buy them after we went back to the UK in 1957.

I believe that Watneys Red Barrel was the single most powerful force the lead to the creation of the Campaign for Real Ale!

I would have no clue on that score.

I remember Tiffany's and The Locarno...it was either Watneys Red Barrel or Ben Trueman....you can taste the hops they used to say.

The best thing about Red Barrel was the key ring.

I think a screwdriver from my bike kit. After we'd drank most of it, I remember feeling particularly queasy after a go on the roundabout.

Actually it was a Raleigh Grifter, don't think she ever saw my chopper.
