Golly - like others I thought you were off for good????!!!!

Have a great time and enjoy.....

I'm going back to Blighty in May for a wedding. Not my 1st choice for a holiday seen as I only get 3 weeks allowance, but I'd committed to it.

I am looking forward to seeing my mates, however it would be nice if they could make the effort to come here too!

The title of this thread threw me for a moment there........I thought that you'd had enough!

Just as we are really excited about coming out to stay with family on Vancouver Island this summer for 6 weeks - you are equally excited about coming back......I so look forward to the day when I only have to buy a one-way ticket though.........it will save on all my tears and heartbreak on the return journey to the UK.......which I'm sure that you won't have will you? :)

Thanks for the best wishes from everyone. I was feeling a bit mischievous when I wrote the title of my post :p

Like you Bandit, although I keep in touch with friends frequently, I also wonder why many of them don't take up the offer to come over here, after all there is no accommodation to pay for (and plenty of fab hospitality ;)). They seem to go on plenty other vacations throughout the year. My mum has been over twice, and unfortunately one friend and her husband were caught up the Zoom fiasco and never got here which was a real shame. I guess that people know we are here for years to come so there is no rush....................

I am going back to Aberdeen on my own for a good old catchup with friends/rellies. We would not choose to going back on hols as a family just yet as have only been here 2 years and there are so many other places to visit. We are going to be heading to Massachusetts for a week in the summer before our 18 year old heads to 'The Rock' to attend Memorial Uni. Then of course, me and Mr YCD will head to 'The Rock' for a long weekend later in year - it looks a fab place so am really looking forward to it.

Everyone is pretty excited at my trip back 'home' and I am going to have to spread myself thin with all the offers of accommodation and nights out. I guess I will just have to sleep on the plane on my return journey ;)

It might happen. We had been in Canada for about five years before we went back. We went into our local and the landlord said to my husband "Where've you been? I haven't seen you round here for ages!"

We can get real cream cakes and Cheshire and Lancashire cheese here in Regina. Surprised you can't get them in NS. Mind you, I try to avoid them! I am always glad when Superstore is out of chocolate croissants too!!!

I think some people just don't see Canada as a vacation spot  Hubby's dad really has no interest in coming out to see where we are - which I think he felt a little hurt by to be honest. But his dad will happily spend out on his two hot European holidays each year. Mind you, if some mates of mine moved to Oz, I'd be in no hurry to go there either :sneaky: But I guess it depends how good friends they are. Most of us would go to visit the friends first, and check out the scenery second. Or is that just me?

Have a fab holiday, regardless.

Feel really excited about it as its only 6 weeks away. I wonder how I will cope with the crowds and traffic since its lovely and peaceful here in NS. I am not driving though, which is just as well, because when I watch any UK TV programme on Canadian TV I catch myself thinking THEY are driving on the wrong side of the road.

NEXT and M&S here I come WOOHOO

did you know M&S will ship to Canada now?

Let us know what you think of the country on your return. It's always interesting to see what people make of the place when they have been away for a while.

Take care.
