That's me gone and booked a wee solo vacation back home to Aberdeen to catch up with all my friends and a few rellies. It will be my first trip back since I emigrated 2 years ago. I fly out on April 1st (no joke) via Heathrow and return on April 10th.
Feel really excited about it as its only 6 weeks away. I wonder how I will cope with the crowds and traffic since its lovely and peaceful here in NS. I am not driving though, which is just as well, because when I watch any UK TV programme on Canadian TV I catch myself thinking THEY are driving on the wrong side of the road.
NEXT and M&S here I come WOOHOO

You never know, I might bump into you in M&S.
Flying into Aberdeen (via Halifax, Heathrow) on the 31st March, and back on the 13th April (via Heathrow, Montreal)!
I hope you have some plans for a white pudding/haggis supper when you're home. Personally, I can't wait for an Indian Take-away.
Hope you have a great time!

Yes I know there's always someone to ruin the fun.

I'll leave now.

I didn't realise you came from Aberdeen, that is where I am now! I will be curious to see what you think of it, after being in NS. It will be great to see your family and friends though. I agree with the M&S bit, that si one thing I will really miss, especially the food

No, just going home for a catchup and a few nights out. I speak to my friends on webcam/phone/facebook but it'll be great to sit amongst them all.
I am going to have lunch at Carmines with my old workmates, eat out down at The Green for sure. I also fancy an Indian curry but can get a lovely Kung Po Chicken right here in New Glasgow. I also get white puddings here but a chippy supper is definitely on the menu because I often get a craving for a real chippy chip!
Pink - maybe we should arrange to meet up. My 18 year old son is heading to Newfoundland to study at Memorial later this year so we will probably head up to the Rock ourselves a few times of the coming years and it would be nice to see a familiar face.
I will be heading out to my old village of Blackburn (and Bridge of Don) to say hello to a few of my old neighbours too. I will of course be avoiding the Haudagain roundabout at all costs and wonder if they have finished the roadworks in Market St
I keep thinking that I will bump into someone from the past in Debenhams/Next/M&S and they will ask how I am doing and add that they haven't seen me in ages and ask what have I been up to

You will get some great bargains YCD, it's a buyers market with this recession, so make sure you bring an empty suitcase

I'm actually going to be staying with my mum and dad in Keith, but will definitely be through in Aberdeen for shopping and meeting up with old friends, and having dinner with some ex pupils! PM me nearer the time and we'll see if we can meet up for a coffee or something.
If not (this is my third trip home, and I always run out of time to do everything), get in touch when you are coming up to the Rock and we will have a meet up. I'm hoping to go to Memorial next year to study for my Bachelor of Special Education - us Aberdonians are taking over!!
As for the indian takeaway, it's not so much the curry I miss as all the other bits - pashwari naan, pakoras, etc. They are just not the same here at all - the last naan I had was like a fried, sliced fruit cake!
