As a season ticket holder and supporter of the Calgary Hitmen (WHL) I shall be cheering for the Anaheim Ducks.

My reason for this is that a former Hitmen player Ryan Getzlaf plays for the Ducks and the Ottawa Senators have no former Hitmen players. :p

With the money he's making and the potential he has to make much much more I wouldn't be concerned about a name.

Besides who are we to judge whether or not a name is silly. It's no less silly than the name of the team he plays for Anaheim Ducks formerly Mighty Ducks however they dropped the "Mighty" when Disney sold the team. :p;)

scotland has not been at the world cup for a while so your point is wrong,plus scotland ,england,n.ireland and wales are national teams....so why should i support a nation apart from my own.....my point being,im surprised that the nation isnt behind the sens....if the leafs,habs,flames,or oilers were there,i would back them...its national pride..........end of rant:blink:

It's a game for goodness sake when did it become a requirement for living here to support a Canadian team?

I really don't care for NHL hockey and most likely won't bother watching much of the finals, I haven't watched much of the play-offs to date.

I've said before I support major junior hockey (Memorial Cup going on this week).

I really could care less who wins the Stanley Cup but if someone has to win then I'd like it to be Anaheim simply because there's a former Calgary Hitmen player I liked on the team and I'd like to see him win the Stanley Cup.

Why should Canada get behind a Canadian team?

Most of the players on all NHL teams are Canadians so what difference does it make if they play north or south of the border?

Nationalism doesn't enter in to it, it's the Stanley Cup not the Olympics or World Championships were each team is made up of players from their home countries.

Well, Steve_P, it seems the Ducks (2-0 up) are going in the right direction for your former Calgary Hitmen to win the Stanley Cup.

As an Ottawa resident from the 14th June and having been to see the Sens many times I obviously hope there is a reversal in fortunes pretty soon.

Did I see the Vancouver Giants have won this years Memorial Cup?

Even though the Ducks have more Canadian players its bad to see them up 2-0. Its seems the ducks are just too physically strong for the sens.

Anaheim are actually the most Canadian team in the NHL. Their roster is 84% canadian. So in one form or another you can't fail to support canada.

Well, it's 04:15. Having discovered the 3rd game live on Channel 5 I had to stay up to watch. Finally the Sens win.

Problem is I've got to be up in a couple of hours as the removal men are coming tomorrow (Monday) to pack our stuff for it's shipping to Ottawa and there is still loads to do.
