Go for it Harry marry Meghan.

I say go for it Harry if you truly love each other marry Meghan Markle.
Now wouldn't that be something else to shake up the Establishment and get the UK gutter press all in a tizzy.
We get it British press — Meghan Markle is biracial - CBC News | Opinion

If they tell you you can't because she is errr not the pedigree we see in a future wife then tell them to naff off. This line from the article spells it out
Johnson also made a point of describing Markle's mother as "a dreadlocked African-American lady from the wrong side of the tracks," which is only slightly more subtle than writing "MEGHAN MARKLE IS BLACK" in 20-point font.

So go for it Harry what have you got to lose? Well being the King possibly but do you really care that much about being the King?
Live the life you want to live not what the Establishment dictates you should live.

I shouldn't think 'the Establishment' will give two hoots if he marries her (heirs to the throne can get away with wild behaviour and marrying those considered less suitable - see Princess Margaret's life for a similar story!).

The press might, but if it shakes the bloody Daily Mail up (it was in there that her mother was described in such an awful way I think) then that can only be a good thing IMO.

Only thing is, she's a bit ugly isn't she? I mean really, could he not have found somebody that looks a bit better than her. :sarcasm:

Why marry her? tbh although she's hot now, she's getting on a bit. If he wants kids then find someone younger and English to marry.

It won't happen.
It takes two to rumble and the girl, if she became a threat, would be made to feel so awkward and out of her depth that she would decline any offer.
The family would freeze her out, they've had lots of practice.

I like Harry. A bit of character compared to his drip of a brother. Harry for King I say, and all hail Queen Meghan.

To be fair to William he couldnt live the same life as Harry even if he wanted to, hes in direct sucession the the throne, Harry never will be, so he has a lot more flexibility to do what he wants with his life. William has to set an example being the future king.

Meghan Markle is super hot! However given the choice id still take Kate....she is the epitome of a woman.....stunningly gorgeous, intelligent, and what seems like a wonderfully genuine personality... Ahh sigh!! lol

Maybe he likes the american accent..? ;)

As for kids, my wife is the same age as her, and the doctor literally said to us, tick tock, tick tock about having kids.

These two will be getting married, mark my words. You don't issue a statement like that if you're only looking for a shag every few weeks. She's a keeper.

I've never been a close watcher of the Royal's, but I will definitely tune in and watch this Royal Wedding on TV.

I hope Her Indoors never reads BE:blink:

I just looked this girl up, and she looks a pretty and lively type who would enliven the Royal Family splendidly. I'm not an uber fan of the extended Royals, but would find myself agreeing with FL - it's a Go For It from me too::thumbup:

I did check out MM again though. Still looks a bit ordinary air brushed celeb to me.

I like the sound of her mum though :thumb::demon:

The internet has exploded because last night they were both spotted in Battersea buying a Christmas tree together...still no friggin photos though. That palace statement seems to have worked.

Yes, they both seem to be genuinely happy together and thats all that matters.....good for them!

We have seen too many arranged marriages in the past that never work out.

Good point. Meghan Markle is rather dishy, but WTF is Harry?

Doesn't he even have a surname?

If the UK taxpayers are picking up the bill for this wedding, it should at least be a public holiday.

Mrs May is most likely behind the marriage to cover over the OBRs 20 years of recession.
At least they managed to find that Meghan is related to the Bowes Lyons even if her mother is a yoga teacher.

Eh?

I've been a-googling and it turns out that the Harry involved is one Harry Saxe-Coburg und Gotha.

Yes. He should really marry an English woman.

Pardon... so all those hangers on who receive the dole from the civil list, and the grace and favour homes, and the cash ladled out to the family itself and the police who'll be out if force to keep the riff raff at arms length, all paid for by Charles et al from their own pockets? I don't think so.

But it is a touchy subject and one recognised by the note on the card.

Good luck to them. Bloody hard enough these days to sustain any marriage let alone one that will be in full view of the press, criticised, scrutinised and analysed.

Being papped might seem glamorous at first, but I'm sure it gets very tiring very quickly.

Surely not this tired old chestnut again. I'm no huge royalist, but there have been countless reports and studies that very clearly demonstrate that the net financial benefit to the UK of all the royalty stuff (including, presumably, the thousands of tourists who will be spending their hard-earned in Windsor next May as they hope for a glimpse of the Ginger One and his new bride) far outweighs the cost of the Civil List etc.

Not sure what that's supposed to mean. Even the notoriously anti-monarchist Independent was a bit sniffy about some dodgy maths by anti-monarchist campaign groups such as Republic a couple of years ago. The general consensus, as far as there is such a thing, seems to be more or less in line with the Huffington Post's report here Royals Vs Republicans: Does The Royal Family Really Pay For Itself? which suggests that the net economic benefit in 2015 was somewhere in the region of 750 million pounds.

I'm not particularly anti-monarchist, but I am highly dubious about any attempt to gauge their economic value. As you know, it all depends on the assumptions made, and the highly inexact science of asking tourists and tat-purchasers on their motives.

I saw an article today which suggests they may move into a 7.5 million pound house after they get married.

Would it kill them to show a bit of understanding that, for 95% of the population who pay for their lifestyle, life is pretty damned hard? Do they really NEED to live the pampered lives they do?

Anyway, the very best of luck to them as individuals, and hell mend them all as an institution.

Can you ever imagine a study being published that would indicate that the royals are ripping off the country? And those supposed benefits, it's a little like goodwill valuation when selling a business, unquantifiable but maximised to suit the purpose.

If it's in London, 7.5 MN is not that grand a place, considering their status.

Not London, but the Cotswolds.

Why should they assume that luxury is a default status?
