Default the gluten free thread

It seems that there are a few of us who need gluten free food.

As it's such a pain - in more ways than one- trying to find gluten free food when you first move to Canada I thought it would be helpful if we could list good sources of gluten free grub. Recommendations for where to eat etc, and any warnings if you discover something isnt gluten free.

I've found the best gluten free products are sold by El Peto, they are Ontario based and have an online store http://www.elpeto.com/ I like the bread, and the all purpose flour.

If you are in the Kawarthas then Sticklings bakery has a great gluten free loaf thats sold on the fresh bread counters in No Frills, Foodland etc

A warning that Lindt chocolate often has barley malt in it.

Any more??

My Mum's a coeliac and got some stuff from supermarkets while she was here visiting, I can't think of the brands right now but will update this thread if I think of/find the names.

Sobeys & Superstore both carry a pretty large range of GF food, most of which you can get in the above stores but at a cheaper price.

True and if you search hard, Safeway has a 'good selection'.
