Hi,
Only just joined the forum and have been reading some of the messages which have been helpful and not so helpful wih our impending move to Canada, our application was received in Aug 2005 and having read some of you messages, see that some of you have had yur visa through within 2 years.
My husband, daughter of 16 and myself all decided it was the right decision for us following visiting of family 2-3 yrs ago, but I am feeling a little apprehensive at the thought of leaving all my friends and family, my hubbie is 50 and I am 44, and hope to continue my nursing career when we eventually land. The whole idea of us moving to Canada was for a better life and to spend more time together as a family but following some of the messages re holiday entitlement and wages compared to England I am no so sure.
Is there anyone out there who can help me regain my enthusiasm. we are looking to move to Barrie or Collingwod in Ontario, does anyone have any positive comment for me.
Thanks

I'm still getting that mixed bag of emotions, more-so now the house has gone on the market, one minute I'm full of joy, then doubt, then nervous, then all of them at the same time
. My only hope is they become less once we've actually moved to Canada for good
.PS. Your not to far from us, we live in Old Hill. If you need any info during your application, give us a shout.

we are looking at moving to collingwood/wasaga beach area it is very pretty good beaches but still near enough to toronto and barrie, skiiing is good in collingwood to. The collingwood general hospital is good , my 2 yr old(at the time) decided to bounce down the stairs on his head at the condo we were staying at; the hospital was very friendly although the staff did seem to have a similar attitude to some NHS nurses that it is better to chat than deal with patients. Having said that the wait was pretty quick once i was told what they wanted. I was trying to keep my son awake and they actually wanted him to go asleep, would have been nice if they told me.
when are you looking at going we will hopefully be there by dec 07, already got family visa, but having to tie up ends at work. I will officially land 8th march 07. i know what you mean about feeling nervous everything now seems very close to the time we will be moving
regards
Steve

It is as simple as that, if you are not totally committed then do not even think about it as your life will be very lonely without your family and friends!

You only have to read this forum for a while to see that some folks who were "100% committed" before they came, claimed to have done all the research, visited a zillion times etc, then find themselves "100% sure they'd got it completely wrong" and going home. Then after being "completely delighted to be home" after a while remembering why they left and then deciding to return to Canada "for good this time".
It's human nature to have doubts, especially in a major major life-changing decision like this. People can and do chanage their minds, but just having doubts doesn't mean this is necessarily the case.
You may feel 100% committed but you haven't done it yet!
