Gas prices?

Just filled up at $105.8, didn't think that was too bad. How are other areas of the country in comparison?

I'm surprised you guys haven't started a riot at that price. It'll probably be $2 a litre during the summer months if it's that now.

There must be some sort of local extra taxes applied to make the prices that high. Surely in a metropolis the price should be lower than outlying areas?

Re: Gas prices?

It wasn't that many years ago, 4 or 5 and it was around the 60-70c a litre mark. I can't believe that demand is that much higher in the middle of a global recession than it was then to push prices up so high. Someone is making a whole snot load of money from this.

It's about 15c cheaper in outlying areas like Mission etc. In Vancouver, you have additional things like granola tax, lululemon levy etc

Crikey! The least I can recall is about 99p a gallon. I still reckon the conversion from imperial was a big con to make people spend more.

The last time it was in the 1.30's the price of oil was $35 less a barrel. Go figure?

In St. John's $1.38 today max price as set by the Public Utilities board. (Gas prices change every 2 weeks unless the interruption formula is used due to large swings in oil prices/exchange rates. It seems to be used a lot these days.:()

oohhh ohhhh ohhh thats cheaper! do you also coincide it with a trip to Costco for the beer? Is it worth a ride out to do the two? We've got a party coming up and the hubby's 8 litre gaz guzzler could do with a fill up?

The beer is certainly cheaper at the Kirkland Boutique...however, the selection is pretty limited towards the big brands that are often low on character and overall flavour...if you want good prices on beer head to Aylmer..there are a couple of deps there that are often in a real price war.

My summer football team captain buys the teams beer at Costco and it works out cheaper for us all.
