Default Gas/petrol prices in the UK

My son asked me how much gas is in the UK. I am sure there must be websites that show the prices just like the ones in Canada, but I can't find anything.

Could someone please direct me to a link??

I am looking for something like this:

http://www.reginagasprices.com/

And also can you tell me if the prices are in gallons? And if so, someone who is better at me at math (and that includes just about anyone) tell me what the equivalent would be in litres?

I am trying to compare prices. At the moment most of the gas prices in Regina seem to be about $1.19 a litre. I know gas is more expensive in the UK, I would just like to figure out how much more.

If its in gallons - how the heck do you figure out so much a gallon equals so much a litre??

Ta!

Our local ASDA (Wal-Mart) has unleaded fuel for 103.9p per litre, roughly $2 per litre. With their credit card you get a discount of 2p per litre, not much but it does mount up if you do a lot of driving and fill up regularly.

petrolprices.com - gives the cost of all petrol stations within a radius of wherever you want. To get the price in gallons, multiply the per litre cost by 4.55, then give a sharp intake of breath....

A gallon of Paint is US gallons.

If you buy water coolers bottles they are in US Gallons.

To be honest I've been here for 10 years an I haven't a clue sometimes what to work in. I think its way more mixed up here than the UK.

If we are talking about gasoline which was the original topic then yes I am absolutely sure.

I do admit with other commodities there seems to be no rhyme or reason but on gasoline there is no question.

If you look on page 11 of the Fuel Consumption Guide 2008 published by Natural Resources Canada you'll see they refer to imperial gallons. Also if you convert the liters per 100 kilometers figures for any car to miles per gallon to get them to match what's in the booklet you have to use imperial gallons.

Thanks Steve that was my concern. We are looking at buying cars and wanted to make sure we are comparing apples to apples.

Who cares about fuel economy drive what you want in Canada. I ve traded my 2.0 TDI audi in the UK for A 4.0 V6 in Canada! With fuel being approx 50% cheaper in Canada! It costs about the same to run as the Audi without the mental £400 road tax for 4X4 in the UK. Happy days!
If you want to go green! you'll be saving a fortune on fuel! Diesel is £1.14 today in Aberdeen the European oil Capital!! $1.10 in Abbotsford!
unleaded £1.09 - $1.06. oh yes!

Fuel economy is not really a major factor but given the rate that fuel is rising and the average distances being greater than the UK it wont be long before the cost of fuel becomes more relevant.

As has been quoted on here by many people in the past the cheap fuel only stays cheap if your salary remains equivalent to your Uk salary. We are going from 2 salaries to 1 which is an equivalent on a 25% cut so the cost difference of everything including gas is reduced.

We need 2 cars, one for the OH who is a nurse so it needs to be reliable and reasonable to run as it will be the commuter. I will probably end up with a van of some description as I will be doing the household and kids stuff and they are just so damn practical. When I can afford something that's fun to drive I will get a motorbike.

Cheers
Tom
