i voted for all 3 systems since i have owned all 3 just recently sold my 360 as i needed the money for other stuff and didnt use it as much however they all have certain aspects that are better than the other. wii is good to play with mates but have only played it on my own a few times get bored of it. the ps3 i play because my mates have it so play them online. in my opinion the 360 had better games and online was much better but there isnt that much difference between it and the ps3 i just chose to keep my ps3 since all my mates had it

I personally think Pacman, Hungry Horace and space invaders rule OK but I know I have to get with it a little, having a teen in the house. She has requested a XBOX or a Wii or whatever else would play RockBand or whatever it is for Christmas - her preference is a Wii.

Hubby reckons it will be a waste of money and just gather dust, however I think it may encourage her to have her friends hang out at our house sometimes rather than always going to their houses.

So what system should we go for? I don't think she will ever be a serious gamer and I am leaning towards the Wii as it seems to be a cheaper option.
Well let's see. I own:

* A PS3 (first Gen, which means I own a PS2 by proxy as it has the hardware built in)
* An Xbox 360
* A Wii
* A DS Lite
* A PSP

In order to give you some better advise (and I love my consoles, always have) I would like to understand what type of gamer you are. Social games? Action games? It is all about eye candy for you or the interaction with the game?

A wii all the way - so much fun. Just the 2 of us and our other 30something friends playing on it so your kids are bound to love it!

i'd like Santa to bring me DS lite as I feel my brain needs some training

The Wii for a teen girl, definitely.

You'll find it quite hard to get hold of one anywhere instore before Christmas now though... I think most places operate a waiting list system, but we actually risked buying from this eBayer and I was amazed - it arrived in a matter of 4 days (via Canada Post Expedited - gotta be a record!) and is brand new and sealed (and N.American, not an import.)

Not sure where/how he's getting these quantities of them when there's such a shortage and yet he's only selling them at retail price, but that grey area aside, I'd certainly recommend him:

Oh that's a much safer bet then... Must have had a big delivery because for a good 2 or 3 weeks before we deceided to risk eBay (on 14th of this month) they were totally sold out online and the nearest Futureshop store that even had one in stock (in BC) would have been an 8 hr drive, and no way of reserving it for us, either. Best Buy & Amazon were out of stock for that period, too...
