Fish and Chips in Toronto
OK, I admit that I an a transnational and have eaten excellent food from around the world, but the exception appears to be fish and chips in Toronto. The Fish is tough, skinny and tasteless serves with skinny fries that would not double as scraps in most UK chippies.
No, I am not your average whinging Brit, I love most of the things about Toronto, but miss descent fish and chips.
Mayday. Someone must have some good recs.

Busters at the back of St Lawrence Mkt. hubby says it’s not 100% British but he enjoys their fish and chips.
alternatively buy a deep fat fryer and cook your own.

Thanks Jerseygirl,

Jerseygirl,
I have only been here for 3 months and not found Walmart’s yet.
I am still learning to speak Canadian and use the Toronto Transit system
The local beer is good as long as you steer clear of the multinationals 😜

i don’t drink beer but I am told the stuff Amsterdam makes is quite nice. They have a restaurant on Queens Quay.
we have a BE get together downtown every now and then. Hopefully when the virus is over you can join the group.

Ah Queens Quay is close, I will try that first.
I will then put on my exploring robes, hitch up my dog sled and head out into the bad lands.
Or something like that.
thanks for all the tips 😈
The group sounds fun

I live in Corktown which is less than inspiring as far as local pubs go.
my local in Hong Kong was 28 miles away so I do not see that as a problem 😎🏃♂️🍺

About 8 or so years later I went with a group of people to the one in Bowmanville I think and it was fine. I think it was something in the salad as that is one thing everybody ate.
Years ago, there was a great 'chippy' in Brampton near the 4 corners but it has been the subject of slum clearance and the place is gone.
