Hi guys!! I have landed but am back in the UK. Having handed my notice in at work, leaving 24th December, they have been absolute b*r stewards to me and have now outsourced my work, claiming they have plenty for me to do that isn't my usual job!!!

Anyhow, I applied over the weekend for a job near to where I am hoping to live, in Canada and I have a phone interview on Wednesday (10.15 UK time) I am so excited! Under no circumstances did I even thinkI'd get to the second stage!!!

Sorry for all the gushing!! Having had a rubbish time at work UK style, I need a break!

I fail to see how a company can be bastards if you are leaving in six weeks. Shouldn't you have mentally checked out already? - I know I would have done and I really wouldn't be giving a shit. Long lunches, leaving early, that sort of thing. Actually that sounds like what I do now.

Mentally yes I am in Ontario, physically I'm stil in the UK!! I totally agree with you and I have to say that the internet has had much more use at work than at home!!

Don't worry about it, keep thinking by xmas it's over!!! my employers treated me rather shittily about 4 weeks after i'd handed my notice in too, wanted to transfer me all over the country, few days in one office training folks, then another and so on, wasn't my remit - so I graciously reminded them I was only required to give them 4 weeks notice and not the 8 weeks I had kindly given them - told them I was not going anywhere then told them to shove it and walked out 2 days later! - already had my reference letters etc.

You'll be fine - just keep thinking a better life awaits and no doubt they are just envious
