Trust the Daily Mail to have a negative headline
'It has been an honour and a privilege': Sir Alex Ferguson steps down after 27 years in charge of Manchester United (and club's share price falls by 4.5%)

Rumour on twitter is that Alice the tea lady at Old Trafford has odds of 15 to 1 to get the job while Wilf the boot cleaner is 20 to 1.
Arthur who cuts the grass is not interested as he cant sit on his mower in the technical area.
Betty who sells pies in the West Stand (Stretford End) would have to ensure players would not be nipping off for a quick steak and kidney at half time while she is delivering a hair drying half time talk.

I think Betty would do a better job than Moyes

I just love some of his famous quotes
ON LIVERPOOL
"My greatest challenge is not what's happening at the moment, my greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their f***ing perch. And you can print that."

ON RAFA BENITEZ, REACTING TO THE SPANIARD'S INFAMOUS 'FACTS' PRESS CONFERENCE DURING THE 2009 TITLE RACE
"I think he was an angry man. He must have been disturbed for some reason. I think you have got to cut through the venom of it and hopefully he'll reflect and understand what he said was absolutely ridiculous."

ON JOSE MOURINHO
"He was certainly full of it, calling me 'Boss' and 'Big Man' when we had our post-match drink after the first leg. But it would help if his greetings were accompanied by a decent glass of wine. What he gave me was paint-stripper."

Not in this day and age.

A manager getting 5 years at a club ad winning a couple of league titles will be as good as it gets.

I think the new United Manager will need to rebuild the midfield. I don't think Scholes and Giggs will stick around much longer.

Be good for the game if United did fall away for a few years but at the same time I would not want to see Chelski or City dominating with their laundered money.

Lord Ferguson of Govan has a ring to it
Sir Alex Ferguson could be appointed to the House of Lords if two Manchester MPs have their Early Day Motion (EDM) read in Parliament. Labour MPs Tony Lloyd, Manchester Central, and principal sponsor of the motion Graham Stringer, Blackley and Broughton, have called for football to be more widely represented in the upper house, with Manchester United manager Ferguson the outstanding candidate for a Peerage.

Already bored with it. Get Moyes in and have done with it. Not sure what discussions with Everton need doing as he is out of contract at the end of the season anyway.

Im wondering if SAF will leave him a case of gum as a welcome present?
Mmmm I wonder if shares in Wrigley have gone down like the clubs did when he announced his retirement?
So thats it Moyes at Utd, the red half of Liverpool ecstatic as this will be Liverpools year (season) and Everton now without a manager.

I think Everton will still finish above Liverpool next season.
