Simple solution from this credulous simpleton. I have a serious flying phobia, rooted in a real "incident" in a real aircraft, mild injuries incurred as a result thereof:

Two Valium. One just after check in, the other after going through security.
Small bottle of wine with the main meal. Seat near the loo. Sorted. ;)

I was about to say.. I am a somewhat apprehensive flyer, less nervous than i was when i was a kid (set off by flying through Oct '87 storm). Alcohol is your friend. Just enough to take the edge off of it.

two pints of beer and i'm ready to take on the globe.

Also focus on the air stewardesses doing their job on the plane, what they are doing day in day out. That works too.

And you are most welcome to try

Well go on then.......what have you got ?

Almost hyper if it coughs and splutters before warp speed.

I had a lardy sports bike with 2 cylinders missing (SP1)

Now I have a tractor.

You can cross continents, ride around the world and commute in comfort on a BMW, but not smile a lot

It's not what you ride, but how you ride it that makes you giggle.

My last sports bike was a Kawasaki ZX-6R - brilliant, brilliant fun.

Always fancied the Aprilia RSV-Mille but never rode one. Now I think I'd be too stiff to ride a sportsbike for very long. Perhaps the BMW GS is more appropriate!

I worked with a guy, mid-40s with quite the most enormous gut you have ever seen - he constantly talked about wanting to buy a FireBlade. I don't think he could even have reached the bars.
