Not a big salmon person unless it is BBQ'd. I find the stuff in the cans here has bones in it.

I haven't done the $/ml cost comparisons. I've bought at Costco when I've been buying for a house party or BBQ in the summer but for my own consumption I usually go to a place in Alymer by the marina where I get my St. Ambroise Pale Ale for $11.99/12 (+ deposit and tax).

Is the deposit in QC 5 cents/bottle. Here on the light side it is 10 cents and the Beer Store don't seem to care if I return bottle bought in QC.

If Quebec sells it by the minimum allowed by law, then the Beer Store must sell it at the maximum allowed by law

The deposit is 10 cents. At the moment, 24s of Light beer go for $21.32. Stuff like Becks or Heineken is about $27. The real rip-off here is 12 packs. They go for about the same as a 24.

There is a lot of wine bottle scavenging here. People raid the recycling bins and take the bottles to Ottawa for the deposit.

Thanks for the info on the deposit. You are right about the price of 12's vs 24...it is almost always a bargain to buy 24 versus 12...the problem for me is the beer I like doesn't come in a 24. Those 55 packs of beer (mainly swill) at Costco are quite a deal.

You're referring to Coors Light. Those catering packs are very popular, from what I've seen.

I think I've seen Bud and Ex in that size as well.....I was standing in line behind two 60 something year old guys last summer who had 10 of those to check out...they told me they were heading up to the cottage for the summer....Bob and Doug in golf shirts.

It's nice as a dip Oink, mix it with sour cream and vinegar and chopped tomato and spring onions, s&p.

Nothing like cat food when you do that to it.

yeah but the bones are good for you, take out the too big harder bones and throw away and just smush up the soft ones with a fork, they just dissolve into the salmon.

I only like red salmon in the tin, the pink stuff is crud.
