Re: BE Fantasy League Football
The time is here again for fantasy league football. I thought I'd get it ready early to give everyone a chance to get their teams in and make some considered picks.
Here's the link: BE Fantasy League
The league is called British Expats - Maple Leaf. Everyone is welcome whether you are a regular, lurker or newbie. Once you've followed the link, you'll have to register, create a team and then join the BE league. Go on, don't be a poof, have a go.
Code to join this league: 24099-8586
Good luck all those that join.

Wow this is so 1990s..id much prefer a weekly prediction league where you predict the results for the upcoming fixtures and are awarded points on your predictions which are then put into a league table of participants.

Got a good feeling about my team already

Re: BE Fantasy League Football
Looks like the challenge for me this year is deciding which world class player(s) to choose from the big teams with a bloated midfield, versus the cheaper, reliable, "grafters" who typically start most matches.
So, I'm obviously grateful that I'm not Brendan Rodgers, then.

Yeah, something doesn't seem quite right.
I think it might be to do with the sell on fees. Say, you bought a player at the start of last season for 10m then sold him later in the season for 11m - you'd only get 10.5m for the sale.
So, although the player appears to have gone up in value by 10%, you'd only see 5% of it. That's a drain on the economy, which is all well and good when the economy has functional trading. Now that we have a new season, the economy has been reset (i.e. sum of 100m per entrant) but with inflated player prices that have the non-drained full 100% of price rise since the beginning of last season, rather than 50% that takes into account of the sell-on fee. And that's my feeling too - that many of them are a little bit more expensive than they should be.
Anyway, back off to the yard for more beer and power tool action
And Torres for 10m? F*** that.

As mentioned here is a code for a head to head league as well.
486933-126795
The difference being each week you are given points depending on if you outscore the person you are facing in the head to head.
