Default Face to face interview!

Hi all,

My hubby and i are off to Edmonton on 4th October to meet his new employer, he has already has 2 interviews over the phone plus a number of calls from HR ! Emails have been sent and now we are going there for a week. The only thing is we are not taking the children with us on this time as we are going to be fact finding, looking at areas, schools etc etc and we think it will be too much for the children to take in and they will find it all a bit boring! i am going to miss them for the week but i am sure they will be fine with their nan!

I dont know how i feel really, one min i am happy and then the next i feel a little worried!

Anyone once we have been out and met the new company i am sure i will feel fine.

Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

Thanks Lisa

Hi - we did exactly the same as you in aug 2007, left our 2 kids (4 and 10 at the time) with sis in law.

They had a ball.

It was a great trip for us, in fact the 1st time we ever went anywhere without the children.

We....had a ball, I had 2 interviews, got both jobs and the process started, we have been in newfoundland (me since Feb 2008) and the family all together landed in May 2008, the best thing we ever did in our lives.

On our reccie trip we were only here for 4 days, but packed soooo much into those days, sight seeing, house finding, area scoping, it's all part of the adventure.

Good luck and it seriously is the best thing you wil ever do!!

chris.

Hi - our amin problem was selling the house, so the reccie was Aug, the LMO came through Now and we could not sell till May (although I came out at the end of February).

The house finally sold at the end of May and we then flew out as a family then.

Right now, we are in between the PNP interview and papers being submitted to the federal government process, so when we get the provincial certificate, which will be no problem (we had our porovincial interview last week), the paperwork is sent to the federal chappies and then mediacals are requested, once they are done and all things are equal, we have to have another interview (or not) and then we should be done.

Time frame is 6 to 8 months from now.

Hope this helps?

One of the main things we were concerned about, was how the children now 11 and 5 would get on with school and the different way they do things here.

Well........here you are.......:

No problems what so ever, my daughter 11 thinks she's in real live high school musical (cos that's what it's like) and my boy 5, comes out of school BEAMING every day, it's heart warming.

The children are so adaptable, and just get on with it, I also though the accent (as it's quite thick Irish over here on the Rock (by the bay) - lol), but again, no worries what so ever.

Daughter also gets the big yellow bus to and from school every day, loves it.

You're going to have fears/concerns, but seriously, you re going to be made welcome as this is what they do here!!

We will have to have medicals once we get to a certain point in our application, once the paperwork has been submitted to th federal government, it's at that point we'll be called.
