Default Emoji's 2.0

How's your emoji usage going? Not talking about the smileys on BE, but the emoji's on your phone/tablet? Lately, I've discovered that I can not only use them in a text/messenger message, but in the actual file names of documents. I suppose some people have been doing this for years, but I literally have just discovered it.

If you have a long list of files, it's quite handy to add an emoji to the current/important ones to find them quickly. I also find I am using the emoji in lists and notes etc to add a bit more colour or emphasis. So, although I was initially a bit sceptical of the need for dozens of emoji's...I am not a convert!

I put ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ in a work document once. I thought I was being cool and hip, but either nobody noticed or they were to busy cringing in embarrassment to mention it. It was probably the latter if I'm honest.

On a slightly different note, I was looking at alt codes earlier

alt 5 for a ♣, alt 14 for ♫, alt 128 for Ç that sort of thing.

And I found, among other things, gender symbols.

When would you use Male with stroke?

Would you really text someone that's what you were doing? Even on the bus?

lenny face. I think this ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is the original and it probably originated on 4chan or something. You see it a lot on reddit; and the internet is often 4chan -> reddit -> facebook / forums like this.

If a woman isn't comfortable watching a man masturbate she shouldn't have sat next to him on the bus in the first place...

That's a really clear one ! I'm on reddit quite a bit but never tried 4chan and despise FB.
