Personally I thought it was bonkers for them to hope for that, but it was clear from their Liberal bashing and virtually ignoring the NDP that was the strategy they were going for.

The point that I was trying to make was that the Tories needed the NDP to maintain their share of the vote so they could benefit from the vote split as they did in 2011. The main reason the NDP vote dropped mid campaign was the "niquab issue" so the Tories were the architects of their own downfall.

Respect to Mulcair for deciding he would rather throw the election than stoop to Harper's morals.

Oh yeah, definitely, their idiot Australian consultant clearly didn't bother to check why they won in 2011.

Personally my view changed to them losing the election when they decided to revoke citizenship from those four wannabe terrorists, that really scared a lot of immigrants.

Britain is not a country of immigrants in the way that Canada is, so copying their laws and using it as a prop in an election backfired badly. To an immigrant from many parts of the world, a "terrorist offence" can be seen as something quite minor.

They made a big stink about it for a couple of days to put Justin on the spot then Kenney was forced to start defending it and then they shut up about it completely.

Almost guaranteed that provision of C-24 will now be repealed.
