Just a quick reminder that the new season starts tonight on A+E

These set up/fake/scripted supposed reality shows are getting soooo tiresome now.

Well the script for this one is funny as f**k so it works for me

Even with our sat package no A&E so I've never seen it, but I've been told my brass duck's head cane is the same one on the show.

Every family should have an uncle Si.....ice tea anyone!!!!!

Teeth-gratingly fake. The pious table scenes at the end of each episode are nauseating.

One thing I have never been able to work out is this: they have a huge premises which appears to two offices; one that contains the daddy bear and one containing brother bear, uncle bear and a couple of others. If the calls are hand made by the non daddy bears, why do they need such a huge place and, if they are machine made, what the hell do the non daddy bears actually do?

The only funny thing about the show is the way the Mother always appears to be spectacularly drunk.

What I can't fathom is the initial attraction of the wives to the men in the family.

To quote the fragrant Mrs. Merton interviewing Debbie McGee:

"So, Debbie, what attracted you to the multi-millionaire Paul Daniels?"

A guy that I work with raves about it. He's probably as close to being a "redneck" as you can get round here, sofa in the garden, cooker on his porch, wears camoflague everything, everyday!
Needless to say I have never watched it.

I'm with Mandy. It's a very funny show - cleverly scripted and beautifully acted. The secret to enjoyment is to approach it with an open sense of humour and no religious, social or political hang-ups. A liberal, internationally minded, broadly educated, well-travelled, seventy-year old with absolutely NOTHING in common with any of the principals, I watch each episode with a big grin, and appreciate the raw humour. God, they're good!
