Re: driving test tomorrow afternoon, any tips?
Stop at a stop sign. But for a really exaggerated amount of time. If turning right when the lights are on red (not sure if you can do that over your side, it is ok in ns), stop first and exaggeratedly check for pedestrians.
And like ^^ they said, lean right round to do shoulder checks. You will be fine! Good luck, Rachel |

It's many years since I took the UK driving test which was quite difficult and, if my memory serves me correctly, many (most) people including me, had to do it more than once before success. In this part of Canada all one needs to do is turn up and have a pulse. So, if the same/similar exists in VCR then you'll ace it.

Re: driving test tomorrow afternoon, any tips?
Congrats!
Ahh, I can't wait to do my driving test. Again. I originally learned to drive in Vancouver and got my licence there when I was 17. When I moved to the UK I could drive on my Canadian license for 1 year before I had to exchange it for a UK one. However, because I couldn't prove I did my Canadian practical test on a stick-shift car, they would only give me an Automatic-only licence in the UK, which was useless, as I had a manual car! So, I had to do the practical driving test again, and promptly failed it. A month later, I re-took it and passed- phew. Now I'm moving BACK to Vancouver, I am going to have to re-take that damn test AGAIN to get a Canadian licence back!!! I must be the most tested driver around! :D |

Congrats! I knew you would do it

Congratulations Terese!
I'll be taking my test in Vancouver when I move over early next year. Can anyone recommend a good instructor to help me prepare? I've never driven a left hand drive car before! Terese, did you take your test in an automatic or a manual car? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks, Adele  |

And congratulations to Terese as well. |
Re: driving test tomorrow afternoon, any tips?
I took mine in an automatic and I now drive an automatic- its much easier. I can thoroughly recommend North Shore Driving School, my instructor was Ken and he was great.
Thank you all:wub: Terese |
