Download BBC programmes
#1
Hi,
We tried to download a TV programme from the BBCi website yesterday but it did not allow us to as we are outside the UK. Apparantly it can tell this from our ISP address.
Does anybody know a way to get round this or know of another website where we can get current UK programmes?

you cannot now signup to tvcatchup if your ip is outside the uk, if you go through the proxy server you can sign up there then use it as normal.

I managed to do it a few weeks ago and I'm sure I never used a proxy server. When I log in I get an error message but I just click through and can access the shows.

me too, but now you have to through a proxy server to sign up ,after that you just ,as you say, ignore the error message and access shows

I have just set myself up on catchupTV.com. I had to use the proxy server to setup my profile but then could log in as normal and bypass the error message. A big
to everyone for your help.
One last question - can you download the programs you record on catchuptv and save to DVD? I couldn't see an option for it. Thanks.

I was generally reading though, and caught your question. After following the advise of the answers given to you, I have also successfully signed up to catchup TV, and now have a very happy wife.
Thank you.

I want to try this, but cannot get a proxy to work. Which ones did you get to work?
Thanks

Oh no! Horror of horrors! I have just tried to log onto catcuptv.com and there is a message saying "This Website Has Been Terminated For Terms Of Service Violations" Is this just me or is everybody getting the same message?
I was looking forward to watching Ashes to Ashes tonight

You can still watch them via a proxy address. I watched Ashes to Ashes last night, am hoping to watch ep 2 later ( as long as the proxy is still ok ).
Also UKNova is now taking new registrations, but you have to download those whereas through BBCi you can just stream them from the site.
