OK
Home alone. Flederman at work. I have some metal stars that I want on the siding of the house.
In single woman world I would get some little nails and a hammer, though a shoe often does the trick if you can't find a hammer. I have nails, long thin white ones with little ridges. I have hammer. Shall I just hammer them into the siding??
I used to do this sort of thing all by myself but Flederman usually has a more technical approach than my shoe and hammer method.

If you stick a nail through plastic siding you will puncture the membrane and let water in. It may be bouncy if you are not hammering against a wall stud, even so I would not put a nail through siding. Get some self adhesive hooks.

Hammering nails through your siding is an excellent way of keeping the inside of your house nice and moist.

Why put up these stars in the first place unless you are entered in one of those, 'how chavy can I make my house look' competitions.
