Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
I just have after a comment by Novo and am severely embarrassed, I think I was a knob, goodness knows what anyone else must have thought. Please tell me I am not alone and mellowing over time endears forgiveness?

I can't be doing with arguing and putting people down but some people on here go for the jugular regularly to stir the pot  |

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
I regret that I have occasionally been would up by the odd knob.

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
These sorts of threads are annoying because you have to wade through the OP's past posts.
|
Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
I don't think i'll read all of my own ones but yes there's probably more than half that are total bullcrap and half of those, embarrassing bullcrap.
Don't regret that past and all that shiz |
Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
You can't prove nuttin!
Oh wait, you can... |
Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
Not embarrassed per se, but I have occasionally read through past threads and inadvertently read a post thinking "that's a bit much" and looked to see who said it...and it was me!
|
Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
Should have used better words in previous posts yes or rephrased it absolutely but embarrassed No.
Many subjects will bring out the best and worst in posters in which some threads can get a bit testy. We all have opinions be they right or wrong. Some posters may attract attention because of the nature of their work and suffer the odd not so nice comment. Its the personal attack aimed at the individual that causes the most concern when not justified. Im all for a bit of banter and light hearted ribbing be it about a post I made or indeed about my job and can dish it right back if need be. Of course this being the internet and the age of the keyboard warrior one wonders if the person making a personal attack with posts on here would actually say those things face to face to the person they are attacking? |

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
yeah, re-post the cringeys!
if anything I was way too nice and sane when I first posted on here. I've since hardened up and gone crazy, so it's all good. |

Oh, it's Rae. You've changed your icon. Didn't recognise "you" until I checked your profile page. I don't recall any cringe worthy ones from you.

Can you re-post some of your cringe-worthy past posts or bollox posts and let us opine on it? Of course if you leave it long enough, this one itself will do. ;)

A whole thread full of it ... http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=608334 This is one I probably should have kept to myself..."Canadas approach to policing is similar to its approach to seal hunting, short and bloody." On Canadian nightlife...."you will never miss a party, as long as, a. the oilers (substitute relevant hockey team) are playing, or, b. you are willing to throw your car keys in a bowl. shame this bowl though will be some dodgy plastic affair used to store nachos in and will only contain a plethora of ford f150 keys." I think this was me trying to be funny, in retrospect just comes off a bit sad as someone 'trying' to be funny....."festivals. you pay a kings shagging ransom to sit in a field get piss wet through and have some gypo sell you a partly warmed sawdust and chicken ball burger for $200. then once you seen some highly overrated crap band lip synch some rehashed shite tune from 30yrs ago, you have to negotiate a quagmire the likes of which would make indiana jones take a large one in his trousers. i'd rather be home in bed asleep let me tell you." Loads more I am sure, but not doing any more searching. Embarrassing. |

I'm sure that I've said stupid things. Too lazy to look, but I know I have. |

well that is more than enough of mine, time for others to contribute.......

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
I suppose that's one of the downsides of all this technology, that past conversations and thoughts don't just fade in the mists of time. Pity the young ones who have even all their teenage angst lurking in online places ready to make them cringe in due course. Of course the new generation doesn't give a four x about over-sharing etc so it probably doesn't matter that much anyway.

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
For me, the closest I've ever come to regretting posting something was when I should have sent a link to a particular site instead of typing out the quote in verbatim. Other than that, I haven't regretted any of my posts so far.

aw some lovely blasts from the past in that thread - and also some reminders of the slightly unhinged (cough Lancashire Bird cough)

Re: Did you ever look at your old posts and get embarrassed?
To be honest half my posts are made when I'm pissed.
There is so much drivel on here that I've never been fussed with the context. |
