True.

BC will accept US drivers licenses for exchange, but they do not have any agreements for sharing driver records with other states, tickets points collected outside of BC do not reflect on your driving record in BC.

I also didn't have provide a copy of my driving record from California to get a BC licence.

As far as I know BC doesn't share with any state of province, so even a ticket of points within Canada in a different province won't follow you to BC.

As you must provide a Driver’s Record to exchange a US DL...I suppose they must want it for some reason ie to check your driving history. For most US states it can be done electronically...otherwise it can take weeks.
