I went to a funeral a couple of weeks ago and while my car was parked in the lot someone hit it and caved in the passenger side corner of my front bumper as they backed out of their parking stall. They never left a note or anything to accept blame so in effect it was a hit and run. Unfortunately I did not notice this damage until about two days later.
I just got back from getting an estimate to get it repaired. $1,059.36.

No point in claiming it on insurance, so it seems I am out of pocket for this one.

Unfortunately it needs a new "skin" on the bumper which will need to be painted to match the car.
Three hundred fifty or so for the part the rest is labour and paint + clear coat.

Nobody wants to take responsibility if no-one else saw it happen. Why would they want their insurance rates to go up if they don't have to.:curse::curse:

I would always leave a note if I scraped someone's car.
My son was furious when someone he worked with scraped the side mirror on his car. It had to be someone he works with because they are the only ones in the employees' car park. Now - who would do such a thing to a workmate?
Don't answer that - I already know it happens all the time nowadays!

Sorry to hear about your car Steve, I can't say I'm surprised after seeing the quality of driving in Calgary
, and don't get me started on the parking, it seems to be customary to park in bays at 45 degree angles.
I've taken to reverse parking just to show off

$1,059.36 Bloody hell.It doesn't surprise me either, the way people drive here. Going on Deerfoot is a white knuckle ride for me!
Sorry to hear of your misfortune Steve.
