This post got me thinking about buying something on the way home from the pub....I could now quite literally kill for a Doner Kebab...a proper one.

Must admit I never liked them in the UK but the Donair or Giro or whatever the locals call them I quite like ( but cannot partake of due to weight loss program ).

Doner/Donair is the compressed meat on a skewer variety; Shwarma/Giro is the layered meat on a skewer variety. I think.

I like shwarmas. They've got lots of places here but the shops close very early so they're useless for that walk or bus ride home from the boozer.

Yes Shwarmas are the way to go. Especially if they do them in a large flour toritilla wrap (as opposed to pita bread). Getting hungry now!

Our local canadian superstore sells blue dragon chinese curry sauce and sweet n sour source - exactly the same as the jars in the UK, they also sell stir fry sauces. they are usually found next to the indian sauces.

I shouldn't partake either...but I'm ashamed to say I have and do I have found this winter that when I'm not actually eating, I'm thinking about eating...prior to sleeping! I'm beggining to resemble a groundhog

I'm going to make a pot of my spicy African peanut butter - chicken - sweet potato stew and wonder if I could sneak a little curry in there. I bet it would be deadly on chips.
