Must admit I never liked them in the UK but the Donair or Giro or whatever the locals call them I quite like ( but cannot partake of due to weight loss program ).

Doner/Donair is the compressed meat on a skewer variety; Shwarma/Giro is the layered meat on a skewer variety. I think.

Yes Shwarmas are the way to go. Especially if they do them in a large flour toritilla wrap (as opposed to pita bread). Getting hungry now!

Our local canadian superstore sells blue dragon chinese curry sauce and sweet n sour source - exactly the same as the jars in the UK, they also sell stir fry sauces. they are usually found next to the indian sauces.

I have found this winter that when I'm not actually eating, I'm thinking about eating...prior to sleeping! I'm beggining to resemble a groundhog

I'm going to make a pot of my spicy African peanut butter - chicken - sweet potato stew and wonder if I could sneak a little curry in there. I bet it would be deadly on chips.
