For a few happy weeks in December, no testing was needed if you returned within 72 hours. My guess is that this will return but who knows when. Currently a test is required to return to Canada even if you popped across the border, did a U turn and returned.
https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/tr...-entry-testing is the current guidance. Note that the test must be taken outside Canada.

Yay… it’s been confirmed - no pre-test to enter Canada by land or air 😃
I presume ArriveCan will still need all the other information though?

Correct, you will still need to use ArriveCan.
