Default Crossing the Border - goods!

Yep once again we have ventured to the US of A! This time for a long weekend to Montana to see a car show and watch a little NASCAR.

On the way over the US customs siezed our beef steaks and burgers - managed to keep the sauasages (pork - yeah right). On the way back Canadian customs seized out firewood (that we brought from Alberta, carried around with us and thought we would take it back).

Of course as soon as we were asked about the goods we remembered we couldn't take them - did we think about it before - NO! Will we remember next time? Probably not

We did a little of the 'going to the sun road'- will do more when we have our own vehicle and not using the shuttle. Waterton got a huge WOW from us too and we will revisit and do more there too.

Will post some piccies when we eventually download them - if there any good that is

You reminded me of when Al and I drove from my nan's in Mass (USA) to our mates in GTA the first time we visited Canada. The only thing my nan really missed was bacon, so we snuck some of the peamale(?sp) bacon back across the borderor her as a pressie. I know very naughty, but she was made up, froze it and had it as a special treat for ages afterwards.

Hmm - I just wish we had said 'Oh we've got some burgers' and left it at that but oh no we both had to pipe up 'Oh we've got some steak' Didn't even think of burgers till the man entered th RV to seize them $30 worth of steaks

Oh well we only declared $90 worth of goods comming back

Whilst I was queuing to pay tax the other week I saw Canadian agents help themselves to cherries out of someone's empty vehicle. They took them out, and threw them on the ground, how pointless!

As far as I could see, they didn't even inform the family they'd taken them, so they're probably still looking for their missing bag of cherries under seats and in the boot...

I think it is pointless just throwing stuff out too. At least with meat you could donate the stuff to a sanctury or something. We were given the opportunity to drive back and give the meat away - who to?????

Our local zoo type place is always advertising for freezer burnt meat - surely the stuff can be given to places like that?
