A Canadian pal posted about this on Facebook - it turned into quite a heated discussion. No doubt it will on here

Weeeeelllll. It's a counter sue isn't it. The family are suing her. The article says the major factor was that the teenagers were not using lights, weren't wearing helmets, no vests. She now has PTSD as a result of the youths' actions.

Isn't she suing the dead teenagers brother as well though, who is also now deceased? I didn't think this brother had anything to do with the collision?

Re: crazy...
She is counter sueing, two short lines show why, the boys family are complaining that she is wanting to make $$$ for their sons death, yet they are themselves looking for compensation.

According to the police report, Mrs Simon admitted speeding before the accident. She is being sued by the Majewski family.

I don't know if she would garner that much sympathy if she was the first to sue, but it seems she is defending herself more than anything.
The situation must be awful for both sides but the police seem to think there was wrong on both sides.
Be interesting to see what the outcome is - probably the only people that are going to make any money out of this is the lawyers..
