Anyone bought or sold anything on this? Tried it for the first time recently, I have been looking for some used photo gear for a few weeks and the prices people ask on there seem crazy! I expected bargains, at least 30% off retail for used and no warranty for something in good shape.

Many want almost retail for used, do people really pay these ridiculous prices? Some of the ads cannot really expect a response - 'No Scumbags' that puts me out, 'Low-ballers will be ignored' and so on.

I gave up and went to BH Photo, paying only a few $$ more for new, with a CDN/US warranty and a 14 day return policy, delivered to the door in BC.

Kijiji is more popular than craigslist in my neck of the woods. There are scammers and optimists on both Im afraid, but I got some decent stuff for decent prices in the past.

Buyer beware applies though. If you arent comfortable with a deal walk away. Its a bit like ebay without the inconvenience of paying for delivery...

I sold me Audi on there...I sold it in about 2 hrs.....my phone was ringing non stop.....to the point I stopped replyimg.

Not used craigslist, but we bought a car off Kijiji a couple of weeks ago - according to the mechanic who did the safety inspection we got a real bargain as well.

Have used CL - yes they do tend to start high - but watch the ads - if they are still there a week or so later - go in with the price you think is acceptable .

Canadians do seem to think their secondhand crap is worth more than it is.

Yes, people get up themselves and price stuff too high. At some point someone will post a ranty post on CL about how people need to get over themselves. I don't get it either. Just keep checking, eventually someone will come to their senses.
