I can't get any sound out of the laptop.
Have checked volume and mute
properties
checked to see if sound cards and drivers working ok
No sound on Iplayer, you tube or CDs. It was working as few days ago.
Any suggestions? Do I just restore??
Thanks

Are the speakers turned on? Are they plugged into the sound port OK? Have you tried the speakers on another computer?

Fled, have you tried looking in the "Control Panel" and "Sound" to see if the speakers have been turned off somehow?

Windows 7
Laptop
I did, which is when I noticed there was no sound.
Checked all that Steve.
Thanks all, I tried off and on again with no change. So I decided to download the Windows updates. To do this I have to turn off user account control settings, download the updates, then turn user account control settings on. Soon as I turned it back on after the updates the sound was back on. Odd really as the updates were not related to the sound stuff at all
Damn 'puters
