We always had an easter egg hunt as kids...and I'm quite old you know

I see it here all the time, clothes, toys, mountains of candy, the whole family over for a turkey dinner. Also apparently you are not allowed to eat meat on Good Friday either. We had Pizza with pepperoni and ham!! :p

Today the kids got chocolate bunny and a few small treats hidden beside the garage. They did an easter egg hunt at a good friends house on Friday as well just as a bit of fun.

I remember being given easter eggs back in the day and that was it. It's over commercialised here and no real chocolate easter eggs You know the kind you crack open with some small chocolate buttons inside. I miss trying to crack them open without breaking it! That's what I remember!! :D

No it's all the decorations that bug me.

I actually meant Burks' point about not seeing as many eggs here as the UK - because it's bunnies and other things rather than eggs. :)

Not in my childhood. Chocolate eggs - often with beakers :) and I vaguely remember painting eggs at school.

Comics always seemed to have strips with egg rolling and that always puzzled me as that didn't go on IRL either.

What's that some form of electricity production? Friction?

Isn't it tiring on your fingers?

Oh the eggs in a beaker, they were great! and the ones in huge egg cups.

i'm glad to see this thread is already staggering to an early grave. I mean Easter is a religionist thing after all. For sane people it's a three day weekend (and welcome as such).

But now I'm curious: WTF have eggs got to do with the Resurrection?

Hijacking of the spring festival, new life, resurrection. Blah di blah. Lamb for the main meal, Lamb of God, new life, resurrection. Blah di blah. No idea about rabbits laying eggs though.

Well that's perfectly clear.
