Colliers Powerful Welsh Cheese
Following Snowdonia and Cows (yes Cows with no apostrophe) cheese the new Superstore (Loblaws) flyer is advertising Colliers Powerful Welsh Cheese $7.99 for 250g
I'm up for it.

They were selling that in Costco but stopped. I think it was $9 for 500g though. It's nice stuff.

I managed to get some Colliers. Not tried it yet, but in the latest Sobeys flyer they were advertising Farmers Cheddar for $1.99 per 100g.
They had some already cut up/wrapped but it was mild and the flyer didn't make any such distinction. I noticed a notice () that indicated mild, medium or old so, of course, I bought some old.
It really is very good. Not what you'd call mature but it is very tasty. Like a 'tasty' or farmhouse cheddar back in blighty.
Unfortunately it is orange, but you can't have everything.
Tons better than PC's two year old which isn't exactly cheap.

I've resorted to Baldersons from Costco to get my fix. Its kind of getting there.

Re: Colliers Powerful Welsh Cheese
Sorry, got to butt-in!
The only place I have ever found Colliers was ALDI..approx £3.00 for 250g.
Tesco own label mature this week - 2 for £3.00 (500g!)
As a family we get thru about 500g in 8 days...it doesn't have to be mature or extra mature, but being fussy, Chedder is a must!
We hope to be coming to Alberta around April and am looking forward to searching/hunting out a nice cheese (or two!)
Otherwise I will start making my own, just need a couple of years to 'mature' and space to store it all!!
