Our son is 16 and just got a job at a local small supermarket. They are going to start the christmas muzak soon and he is dreading it. Wall to wall shmaltzy christmas music.

Now if only it was Fairytale of New York and Happy Xmas War is Over played a couple of times and then you're done with it.

I can't fathom this idea of radio stations switching formats in November/December to play nothing but christmas music.

I don't know about radio stations but I reckon people secretly like it in stores.

I have never heard anyone have a good word to say about xmas music in stores. But why would businesses deliberately do something that irritates customers? They either put subliminal advertising in the songs or they know something we don't.

November 12th is when it started in the mall where I went for coffee. I bitched about this in the office and a woman said the Scarborough Town Centre already had a Santa Claus on Saturday past. She hadn't sat on his knee, "I'm Hindi", she said, as if that explained anything.

Yes and im sure with a few people around here too. I will seal the deal this weekend, im planning to buy snowmobile gear and clothing whcih isnt cheap, so that should guarantee very little snow for this season!
