Check out the British Expats monthly meet up in Chilliwack.

Oh my goodness, they must have had a get together last night, Friday, October 9th.

Well, I hope one of the Fraser Valley gang will respond to your post.

Hi Dingbat,

I am trying to track down people interested in playing social and competitive cricket in Chilliwack next year. I have a good mix so far of all nationalities including Canadians would you believe!!! I am a New Zealander, I have three Brits, a couple of Canucks, a West Indian and a Ukranian born in Australia to a Canadian mother, hilarious!

I would love to catch up with anyone interested, I am also chasing people on the South African expat site.

The guys at the Victory have been helpful and we look to have sponsorship from a pub in Chilliwack. Now we just need a pitch which the city are looking into.

If anyone knows Brits who would be keen (must be over 15 - girls or boys) then get them to get in touch at [email protected]

Thanks all.

Scott

Cricket in the Wack - that'll be a first! Cynthia and Alan will be a great help. Hit Dickens as well on Alexander - some of the longer term residents may be interested. Ask for Jean from Northern Ireland or Ann and Fred (who own the place). My OH is a Celtic boy - to have him defect to cricket would be a monumental undertaking. I know another Kiwi bloke who lives right by me - will pass on your info!

Thanks!

I think we will have quite a good bunch of gents. I have also had interest from 4 or 5 women and my wife (Canadian) has piped up to say she wants to play so if any ladies would like to have a go then that is an option also.

I shall go and see the crew at Dickens, my daughter loves that place!

Too complex. There's no mileage in it - everyone's too stoned in the Wack.

Where are you at the moment? Chilliwack is growing very quickly, but is missing an infrastructure and transport to support the growth. What jobs are you looking at?

Lots of entry level low paid work, other then that you pretty much have to commute.

I lived here and gave up trying to find a job locally, so now I am looking into commuting.

They are good at building housing project after housing project here but lack the thought to keep up with the roads, transit and other infrastructure needed for a growing city and the current major is against rail to the city since we currently have no link to the western city's without a car or on greyhound.
